About the Healthy Brain Hub

Our aim is to make brain health assessments more accessible, fast, and accurate for all Australians. In doing so, we hope to further our current understanding of dementia and improve the dementia diagnosis process. We hope you will join us on this journey.

The Healthy Brain Hub is a collaboration between academic and clinician researchers based at Monash University, University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, University of Tasmania, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

It is also supported by our industry partners, Cogstate Ltd., who provide the memory and thinking tests, and Curve Tomorrow, who have built the Healthy Brain Hub platform.

This initiative is funded by the Australian Government’s Medical Research Future Fund.

Participant experience

Yes, if you wish to. The feedback reports that we offer do not provide any diagnosis but may help you better understand your brain health and inform discussions with your doctor. However, some participants referred to the Healthy Brain Hub from other affiliated studies (CREEDD or RACEDD) will not receive their brain health assessment results.

When you receive the results of your brain health assessments, take the time to read through your feedback. If any findings raise concerns about your brain health, we recommend discussing them with your doctor. This will allow both of you to address potential follow-up investigations together, and your doctor can offer appropriate support and guidance.

Yes, participants will receive support and resources to help with their engagement and experience in the Healthy Brain Hub. This includes receiving assistance with technical issues and information about healthy ageing, dementia risk reduction, and overall brain health.

Getting involved

Please head to our main website page and click the “I want to join now” button.

You can participate in the Healthy Brain Hub for as long as you like or as long as it remains active. Currently, we have funding for the Healthy Brain Hub to run for 4 years. We ask that you return every 12 months to complete your brain health assessments. Each year, you will have 2 months to complete your assessment. As dementia is a disease of time, repeated assessments can help us understand changes in your brain health over time.

Your data will be stored on secure servers at Monash University and Curve Tomorrow. All data will be encrypted and password-protected during transport to and from your device. The data will be securely handled by a small number of researchers in the study to conduct the experiment and analyse the results.

For more information about how your data is collected and stored, please visit our Terms and Conditions.
